Cabin Fever!

Oh, what a week it's been! The snow, wind, and utter freezing blanket of cold has kept us housebound all week. We've been doing pretty good for being cooped up with each other for so long. I have had the benefit of going to the fitness center a couple times this week, but poor Meadowe and Finn. They've been inside for such a long time. Fortunately the cousins came over a couple times this week and finally today, Meadowe and Finn got to go visit the cousins and leave the confines of the same 4 walls.

We kept busy, doing laundry, cooking, playing, baking cookies, cleaning, watching for the wave of snow to crash down on the yard as the snow plow went by, and waiting for Daddy to get home every evening. Finn is always so excited when Daddy comes through the door. Here are some pictures of how we passed our time.

Yes, that is a pea stuck to his nose!!! He had no idea!

a wedding celebration!

On January 3rd, one of Ora's cousins got married and what a beautiful ceremony and wonderful reception. Meadowe was so excited about her new dress for the wedding. She tried on 3 different dresses and she was most taken with the pink dress. Mam-maw, Daddy, and I thought it was the best of the three, as well. Oh, she loves the color pink!

We took family pictures, we danced and the kids had a ball out on the dance floor.

There were a few other young kids that Meadowe loved to play and dance with. As you'll see, Finn was content to investigate cousin Niki's cane!

It was great to see Ora's mother's extended family again. They live a few hours from here. We always have a great time when they visit.

What a great celebration of family and life and I am so thankful for both.

Happy New Year & Happy Anniversary!

Happy New Year and I hope you all had a great time no matter what your choice of evening entertainment! We had a fun time at our friend Jeff's house. Never a dull moment over there! We played games and at midnight blew whistles and horns and shot streamers. Meadowe loved tooting on the horn, and Finn had a great time making noise with a length of PVC pipe! Finn fell fast asleep on the way home and Meadowe called her Mam-maw to wish her Happy New Year. I think we woke her up! Sorry, Mam-maw!

January 1 is Ora's and my anniversary and we celebrated 7 years today. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Biaggi's, our restaurant choice of tradition. We always go there on our anniversary date. We spent some time making goals for the year and spending quality time together. Meadowe and Finn had so much fun playing at Grandpa & Grandma's house.

Best wishes for a great year to you.
